Firstly, let me apologise to all X-Files fans out there. You won't find Mulder and Scully on these pages...just me!
These pages are called 'The F Files' because my names Fergus and just like the the TV show I cause all kind of mischief and unexplained happenings well I am a Bearded Collie and it's my job. Actually my real name is Deanfield The Consort which is a bit posh Fergus has a nicer ring to it. I also get called other names
I own Dad (martin) and Mum (pam), but I humour them and let them think that they own me. I'm the first Beardie that they've had, and Dad keeps saying "the last too", as he chases me to get his shoes back. I live in a small village in Lancashire called Parbold. It's nice as there's loads of places for walks and big open fields to run in with Geltai.
Oh! did I forget to mention Gel? She's a German Shepherd with a lovely long tail which I spent many a long hour hanging from when I was a puppy. I don't do that anymore because I'm growing up (actually Geltai discouraged me! She is top dog after all). You can see Gel on the Photos pages, along with Taliesin. I never met Tali though I'm told I take after her in many ways.
I was born in Colne, Lancashire on the 25th May 1998 and had loads of brothers and sisters to play with. I chose Mum and Dad when they came to see me. They said "We're only looking we won't make a rushed decision" and left 2 hours later the proud owners of moi!! a decision which they have never regretted. I have loads of doggy friends in the village and loads more I meet at training. So a big hello to Jackson, Sam, Merlin, Corrie, Bramble and Sophie.
I must be pretty damn good at this training thing that they've asked to come along and join the Show team for training. Now that summers here (well what passes as summer so far this year) we do an extra outdoor training session which is great fun as the agility equipment is set up and as a final treat we get to run through tunnels and stuff, though I'm not allowed to do some things yet, Mum says I've got to get older first.
In April I went on my first holiday. I wasn't sure at first - long trip in the car (but I didn't womit!!) strange cottage and smells - the furry things called sheep looked like they'd be fun to play with!!, not sure about those enormous things called cows!! and as for Juno the asthmatic donkey...
We went to forests, sand dunes, beaches, more forests and looooads of fun places. But best of all I had my first holiday romance. The farmers daughter called Judy. One month younger than me...she wasn't a beardie but an Airedale...but that didn't matter.
In July I made my first appearance with the Parbold Dog Training Club show team, which was great fun...not sure though if I was invited as the class clown...but I'm a beardie what should they expect!! A week later it was the North West Branch Beardie Fun Day that was GREAT fun, loads of beardie hugs and new friends to meet. I even passed my first Working Test and then to top it all off I won 'The Dog with the waggiest Tail' competition. Even Mum and Dad joined in the fun wearing limited edition T-shirts, mum had me on, and dad did a spoof t-shirt with 'Manic Street Beardies - This is my beardie show me yours' - very funny dad!
Then in August we all went on our summer holiday to a big cottage near Brecon. That was great fun as it was next to a canal and we went for loads of walks and tons of new places to visit. Even made friends with the eight-week old kitten next door. It was great fun.
Email me if you've got any comments or questions, or if you have any links which should be added.
Bye for now...I'm off to do some serious bouncing.
